ACTING FOR DANCERS!
This ONLINE program is designed for dancers who are technically strong but want to take their confidence and artistry to the next level. Whether you're training in ballet, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop or commercial work, if you have ever been told to "feel it more" without knowing how, this class gives you the tools to actually do that.
KIDS, CAMERA, ACTING currently works with students who are successful, competition dancers and is excited to now open up this program, created specifically for those who want to elevate their game. For competition level dancers, you will learn how to strengthen the connection to your choreography and movement which will elevate your performance to give you that added confidence and edge. For novice performers, this program will be tailored to the individual, where ever they may be on their dance journey.
Cost: $240.00 + HST

What You'll Explore:
PRESENCE & PERFORMANCE
Learn proven acting techniques that can help you access genuine emotion and stay grounded in the present moment of a performance, resulting in a stronger connection to the movement and story.
CHARACTER EMBODIMENT
Learn to build a character from the inside out through motivation and inner life that shapes every movement you make on stage. Break the habit of putting on a "performance face" and discover how authentic expression and spatial awareness communicate the story to every seat in the house.
MUSIC AS NARRATIVE
Develop your understanding of subtext, learning to respond to music emotionally, not just rhythmically, so your body becomes the story the music is telling. Gain the confidence you need to create strong, memorable pieces.
The Result:
A confident performer who can elevate the artistry in their dance. One who doesn't just execute choreograpy, but connects to the audience and leaves them feeling something long after the music stops.
**Classes are one on one, private instruction. For those who require scheduling flexibility, we are happy to adjust session days and times each week, where available. A full schedule may be set with the instructor upon enrolment.
